As if we needed another reason to celebrate firefighters.
We don’t, of course, but we’ll jump on any opportunity we get. So pour a tall, steaming mug of coffee and raise it high because September is Firefighter Appreciation Month.
Simply put, firefighters are some of our favorite people in the world. They show up for their shifts, day after day. They train endlessly. And when a call comes in, they race off to the scene often not knowing exactly what they’ll find when they get there.
Some firefighters are so drawn to this life that they make a career out of it. Others do it for free, as volunteers, because they are compelled to serve their communities in a meaningful way.
Fire Dept. Coffee exists because of the powerful connection we discovered between the humble cup of joe and the men and women who rely on it for a pick-me-up to get the shift started or to power through the day.
We are veteran-owned and run by firefighters. We built this company largely on the dedication of firefighters, active and retired, who dedicated their time to help us build this dream.
That’s where the name comes from, but it’s more than that. We’ve carved our place in the firefighter community because we want to serve these amazing first responders. So, while we’re here to celebrate Firefighter Appreciation Month, we’re here for firefighters all year long.
Have you heard the story about the fire station that ran out of coffee? Neither have we. Just doesn’t happen.
We’re proud to help firefighters stay stocked up, whether at the station or at home, with a 15% discount on every purchase for life. It’s the least we can do for all that they do.
And it’s not just for firefighters. It’s for all first responders, emergency dispatchers, active-duty military members and veterans.
We’ve been around enough fire stations to know that this line of work isn’t easy. Firefighters get sick. They get injured on the job. Or they’re dealing with the very real mental health challenges that come with one of the most demanding professions on the planet.
That’s why, from day 1, we’ve been dedicated to giving back to support sick or injured first responders. We created the Fire Dept. Coffee Foundation to help direct funds to individuals in need or to the amazing organizations across the country that are working hard to ensure that firefighters have the support it takes to overcome challenges.
We’ve recently created the Fire Dept. Coffee Club and the Fire Dept. Shirt Club as new ways to reward our customers and unite them in support of worthy firefighter causes. Each month, we select a fire department or supporting organization to receive a giveback amount with each purchase.
We create a special coffee roast and design a fun and stylish shirt that highlights that department or organization. Our customers get to drink great coffee and wear their respect for firefighters on their back. They do it all knowing that someone, somewhere, is benefitting from their support.
As our brand continues to grow, we’re constantly looking for more ways to share the love and respect that we have for the firefighter community.
In 2023, we became a primary sponsor for Sam Hunt Racing and the No. 27 Toyota Supra driven by Kaz Grala in NASCAR’s Xfinity Series. That gave us the chance to travel across the country, from track to track, sharing our coffee and our love of the firefighting community.
We also became the Official Coffee of the National Hot Rod Association. With the NHRA we’ve had the opportunity to identify and recognize Community Heroes, such as firefighters, from the surrounding areas at NHRA races across the country.
Meeting these men and women has been a truly humbling experience. Their courage, skill and resilience never fails to amaze us. It’s been an honor to celebrate them and we’ll keep celebrating firefighters every chance we get.
