If we know you well (and we think we do), we bet you love large pots of joe just like us, but can’t resist the temptation of a refreshing iced coffee every once in a while, especially when the weather is particularly hot. Luckily, making iced coffee at home is actually super easy!
Once you memorize our iced coffee recipe, you’ll no longer need to be overcharged for it at your local coffee shop.
Cool beans, right?
To make iced coffee with hot coffee, you simply need to mix it with cold milk, add ice cubes and a sweetener of your choice, like vanilla syrup, sugar, or even maple syrup.
Sometimes, iced coffee gets confused with its cool cousin: cold brew coffee. However, they’re actually very different!
Cold brew is made with cold water and the extraction process requires a few hours, whereas iced coffee relies on java brewed traditionally (aka hot and fast).
You'll need:
We love iced coffee, but, as you might already know, we like our coffee strong enough to smell colors. Because iced coffee relies on ice cubes, it can get a bit watered down after a while. The solution? Coffee ice cubes, of course!
You can prepare them the night before or even just a few hours before iced coffee o’clock.
Just brew some fresh coffee, let it cool down, pour it into your ice tray, and let it freeze!
How you do that really depends on what coffee maker you have at home and how many people you’re brewing it for.
Our iced coffee recipe makes one drink, so you could use one of our pods or a French press. If you like it particularly strong, brew two shots of espresso instead.
Making iced coffee for your entire family or group of friends? Then multiply our doses for the correct number of coffee lovers and brew a large fresh pot.
For the best results, you should wait until the coffee has cooled down. Then, just fill up a glass or jar with your coffee ice cubes, pour the coffee on top, and add the sugar and vanilla extract.
Give it a good stir (no-one enjoys feeling all those sugar grains in their mouth!) and top it up with the cold milk.
This recipe works just as well with dairy-free alternatives like soy or oat, too.
To make iced coffee fast, you can simply rely on the ice cubes that you already have in your freezer instead of preparing our coffee version in advance (if you don’t mind them melting and watering it down slightly, obviously).
Don’t want to wait for the coffee to cool down, either? Boy, you’re really craving an iced coffee right now, aren’t you?
In that case, mix the hot coffee, sweetener and cold milk first, and then add the ice cubes.
Making iced coffee at home is actually a breeze, right? Especially when you brew the best coffee, of course!

We would suggest using this recipe, omitting the milk, sugar, and vanilla extract!
